Dawn on the pier
One of the only times you can find Santa Monica Pier close to empty is at 6am on a weekday. The sun struggled to breakthrough that morning, causing a beam from above effect on this image.

Often known by its initials, L.A., and nicknamed the City of Angels, Los Angeles is a world center of business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, technology, and education. I call this place home. This picture was taken from the Griffith Observatory in Hollywood.
The Los Angeles film industry was centered in Echo Park before the studios moved to Hollywood, just before World War I. This HDR rendition of Echo park really shows what this landscape is capable of. You can see why so many movies are shot in this beautiful park with downtown LA filling out the skyline.
This image is a great example as to why I've set up my blog to showcase panoramic shots. This photo was taken at the Griffith Observatory shortly after an apocalyptic like storm rolled through LA in early spring. Nowhere in LA can you find a better view of our voluptuous landscape.
